Who is this designed for

My beginners course is designed to help you get started in running. No experience is required!

I run my beginners session as a group (maximum 12). Research suggests that people are more likely to stick to a new activity if it’s a fun and social thing to do. Being with others who are starting off just like you, means that it’s a shared experience and nobody gets left behind.

By running on trails and away from the roads, it gives you a chance to explore places and enjoy the countryside around you. If you’re enjoying what you’re doing, it’s so much easier to do!

How does it work

The beginners course runs for 8 weeks, and we meet for an hourly session each week. I’ll start by getting you moving, but don’t worry it’ll be a mixture of walking and running. Over the weeks, we’ll gradually be doing more running and less walking with the aim is to be able to run for 30 minutes by the end of the course. I’ll help you learn to warm your body up to help prevent injuries whilst running and teach you how to move your body to help make it stronger.

Where & when

I run my beginners courses from Poynton Pool, just off the A523 between Hazel Grove and Poynton. This is a nice flat area with access to trails towards the Middlewood Way and the canal.

An 8 week course (consisting of 8x 1 hour sessions) is £50
