I learned to ring church bell during a national drive in 1999 for the Millennium Celebrations.

Early bell ringing

I learned to ring at Nantwich Parish Church and split my time between here and at  Wistaston Parish Church.

Current bell ringing

In 2003 I took over the tower captaincy at Norbury Parish Church in Hazel Grove,  Stockport. The tower has its own website so visit it to find out about what we do.

Peal ringing

I rang my first full-length peal at Wistaston in 2002 and the majority of my longer-length ringing has taken place there although I ‘retired’ from peal ringing in 2007. I’ve rung four peals since making that decision; two on handbells and two occasional peals in 2012 to commemorate the Jubilee Celebrations and to mark the horrific murders of two on-duty police officers not far from the church at  Mottram in Longdendale. Will I ring another peal? Never say never, but it’s not on the priorities list.

My Full Peal records are here.

Quarter Peal ringing

I tend to stick with quarter-peal length ringing for performances rather than anything longer.

My Quarter Peal records are here.
