Proud of Team GB

Well I must say in the lead up to the Olympics I was very much in the ‘bah humbug’ camp. A lot of the things that were going wrong such as the security malarky could almost be chalked on the ‘told you so’ board. And I’ve already commented on the empty seats fiasco.

But tonight was truly wonderful. Jessica Ennis was wonderful, Mo Farah just sublime. 10k has always been my favoured distance (albeit for me about 15 minutes slower than the men’s final) although I’ve preferred running it rather than watching it. The last 400m tonight however was as exciting as any race I’ve watched, out of this world.

I almost felt sorry for Greg Rutherford’s success almost being in the way of the media storm around the other two, another great triumph.

Seems as a nation we’ve now branched out from the velodrome and the river, who yet again both did us proud today 😀

Sadly the football team went out in the traditional ‘losing at penalties’ way, but we can’t have it all our own way I guess.
