Challenge 2014 goes live

I’ve been trying to select the right time to officially launch Challenge 2014:Marathon & More and that time happened this evening. Actually the big reason for the low-key start was that I didn’t want to look to be trying to over-shadow one of my close friend’s own charity running.

However with only 10 weeks to Edinburgh Marathon Festival I do need to start my own fund-raising and so the justgiving website is fully up and running, and accepting donations. The link can be found in the margins of this site, or click here to open up the Justgiving page. Unsurprisingly I’m raising money for Myeloma UK again, and in fact going to Edinburgh gives me the opportunity to meet them as that’s where they’re based.

So this year it’s all about doing that bit more. So the run has been super-sized to the full Marathon length and whilst we’re doing a repeat of the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride in July, I’m also taking on the Etape Eryri in the Snowdonia National Park. I’m thinking the 73 miler is the sensible option however there is a 100+ miler which might just tempt me.

So please, dig deep, tell your friends about this blog and about the Challenge and let’s try to beat this incurable cancer!
